º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ Sophomore Isaiah Whitten Chosen for Prestigious Internship

Posted on Thursday, May 05, 2016

The Institute for Responsible Citizenship is an organization based in Washington, D.C. that selects the nation’s best and brightest African American men with sophomore collegiate status in order to prepare them for a future of excellence and servanthood. To be selected, Isaiah competed against a wide array of highly qualified applicants. Only students with the highest degree of academic success and involvement in their respective campuses are selected for the internship. Isaiah is one of just 10 students selected for the internship this year, beating out applicants from institutions ranging from small liberal arts colleges to Ivy League powerhouses.

The organization’s mission statement is as follows:

Men with the greatest potential should be challenged to pursue the highest achievement.

Men who work hard to achieve academic success should be recognized and rewarded.

Men who are destined for leadership should understand fundamental economic and constitutional principles.

Men of character should be encouraged to pursue success as a platform for service to their communities, our nation, and the world.

Interns with the institute have the opportunity to take on roles in industries including art and culture, business and finance, community affairs and philanthropy, education, government and policy, medical and technological sciences, international affairs, law, news and media, public relations, and religious ministry.

Needless to say, NU is very proud of Isaiah and his continued excellence in academics.
