| Time Commitment | Work schedule is arranged per semester and up to 5 hours per week. Applicants must be available on Mondays and/or Tuesdays to help set up the Skills Lab. |
Position Summary
This position assists with weekly set up, take down, maintenance and organization of the Nursing Skills Lab equipment, in preparation for students to learn skills through demonstration and practice.
Essential Functions
- Prepare and organize equipment for faculty demonstration and student practice for specific nursing skills.
- Assist faculty with general upkeep, cleanliness, and organization of the Nursing Skills and Learning Lab.
- Assist with monitoring inventory of lab supplies.
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

- Capable of and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Ability to be organized, punctual, accurate, and professional.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English well.
- Demonstrate commitment to maintaining a safe work environment free of harassment, violence, and unlawful discrimination.
- Ability to communicate effectively, get along well with co-workers, and deal effectively and professionally with colleagues.
Working Environment
- Work is generally performed indoors in a nursing skills lab setting.
- Most work occurs between 7:00am and 5:00pm.
- Rare evening work required.
- Work requires rare exposure to toxic chemicals and blood borne pathogens.
- Risk of fire or explosion and electric shock related to supplies or equipment typically used in a nursing skills lab.
Physical Demands
The functions are usually performed while standing, but may involve some amount of time sitting, stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, lifting, walking, carrying, reaching, stretching, pushing, pulling, climbing, and perform repetitive motions of the hands or wrists and other movements. Assists with moving equipment weighing up to 100 pounds. The abilities of seeing, hearing, and speaking are also required.
